This week we celebrated Grace’s 8th birthday. She has been so excited for this day to come. Grace has helped out in all the planning of this party since the beginning. She was adamant we have a crowing ceremony, of which I thought it to be a bit excessive, but after all she is the queen and it is her birthday. So we went ahead with the crowning and it was great! All the girls were gasping when I opened the box to reveal the crown. I think they were just as excited as she was. I wish I had a picture of that but I was the one doing the crowing so you will just have to use your imagination. Bottom line it was cute!
Grace and her royal subjects. I love seeing the girls all dressed up!
Grace was thrilled to get her first American Doll. She really wanted the “Julie” doll. We of course had to get a picture with real life Aunt Juju (Julie).
Happy Birthday Grace! We hope your birthday was as fun and special as you are!
I have not posted on this blog in an age!! To much has been going on around here to have time. Today however it has been raining all day, and I actually feel like sitting in front of my computer (yes in my robe at almost 5pm) and putting together this post for you. Don’t worry I have dinner in the crock pot, so my family will eat tonight despite my ramblings on this post.
I have spent this last week prepping Valentines crafts for a few different events coming up. Today I worked on the kids Valentines with them. I was feeling very accomplished until I realized I counted Graces valentines on the package wrong and was short like 12. Don’t ask me how this happed it just did, maybe for another post on “mommy brain.” So at that point I did what any crafter would do, and I headed to my stash where I knew if I put my mind to it I could fashion something up. I found some old white bags that I have used off and on for years. I then stole this cute “Type Writer” idea off none other then Pintrest! It is where all road lead apparently. I had the stamp on hand, and then printed out the text. We stuffed them with fruit snacks and called it a day! They actually turned out cuter then then our original ones! Most importantly they are done.
Below are the crafts planned for the kids school I am heading up with my good friend Kristen this week. Looking forward to seeing how they turn out as well.
Last but not least a cute picture of Noah because well……. he is cute!! Happy Friday everybody!
We had an awesome weekend camping with friends. It was the last hurrah of summer. We all were dreading having to recover from camping the day before school started, but it was a nice way to close out the end of summer none the less. We all had a total blast! Great memories to be had! Thanks everyone for making the effort to see it through!
This girl was always decked out! So cute!!!
The little ones in the group took their naps as they came on this trip.
One of our amazing meals we had on this trip. We know how to do it up right!
We had birthdays to celebrate this weekend. Noah and Georgia were turning five, and Jacob eight. Eric made a yummy chocolate for us all!
As part of the birthday celebrations we had goody bags for the kids. Several of us took turns writing the kids initials on the bags. Adam got all the praise for his awesome sewing skills. I guess if Bixly fails, he can make money being a tailor.
A camping scavenger hunt was part of the weekend activities.
Twelve of the most awesome kids!!!
My sweet Grace turned 7 this week!! She has gotten taller and more beautiful!!! Mommy, Daddy, Micah, and Noah love you so much!!
Rhonda has been requesting old Hollywood photos of her grandkids. After months of finally getting around to it, we finally pulled it off! Sheree chose perfect movie stars for each kid to model after. She also did all the hair and make-up! Julie and Adam were my assistants! Happy Mother’s Day Rhonda, you are the best!
Well I finally caved and ran my first race. It was only a 5k, but for me that was huge! I hate to run, and can think of a million different ways I would rather exercise. However, when a group of some of your best gals ask you to, I could not say no. So what is my opinion on running now…? Well….I still hate it! It was however a lot of fun, and I am proud to say that I can actually run for more then two min. I am sure I ran the slowest 5K, but I am cool with that. I am certain I will participate in other runs but don’t expect any Marathons from this gal. These things are so fun for building great memory’s, and I love that! Girls you rock! My dad and brother want me to bike in the California Classic coming up, so I guess this will be my year that I get my race on. I guess there will be more blog posts from this wana be athlete to come!
I totally underestimated the amount of people that would be out there. Thinking that people would just notice you, is not exactly the best plan. Everyone looks the same! On top of that your start time is delayed by nearly half an hour so most people think you are done before you have even started. My poor hubby who was there with the kids never saw me cross the finish line. Sorry Babe! I did however see this proud Papa cheering me on at the finish! That was a great memory!!
Last year we had a flood from our washer and dryer into our master bedroom. I was not to heart broken, since I hated the carpet, and had always had plans on replacing it. However, time and money of course kept us from replacing it right away, so we just lived on the cement floor instead. It did have its perks, like when the kids wanted to snack in my room while watching TV, no worries on messes ever!
So finally this last month we carved out the time and got our floors put in! We also added in another closet to the room which was another delay in our floor process, but very worth the wait as well. I am still not use to coming around the corner and seeing a finished room. It is so awesome! A big thanks to my brothers Jeremy and Jonathan, who helped install the floors and closets. My Dad was the main guy on this project, and he did such a great job! I am super blessed to have a handy dad around who is always willing to help with projects. Thanks so much Dad!!
We are very thankful for the sacrifice our Lord and Savior made for us today! He is risen!! Happy Easter from the Temple Clan.
Tonight we celebrated our Easter with Mimi and Pop Pop at the Park. The weather was in the 80’s and wonderful. I am glad we celebrated early since it is suppose to rain on Sunday. It was good timing for us. We had a great picnic, and the kids had a ball riding bikes and using the go cart! The egg hunt was the highlight of course, and I think Milo scored the most eggs:) It was definitely a play clothes kind of afternoon! I am hoping to have some more pictures of my kiddos in their Easter best on Sunday, to show you this week! I hope you all have a great Good Friday!
She smiled on cue every time!!! What a doll face!!
